The Story of Andrew and Jason

Our story is less exciting than some….

(No, we didn’t meet on the set of a spy movie while he was married to America’s sweetheart and I was an international superstar.  Although our comparisons to Brad and Angelina are commonplace these days.)

Our story is less romantic than others…

(Case in point: for one Valentine’s Day, Andrew gave me an external hard drive for my laptop.  The drive was red.  Red was the connection to Valentine’s Day.  Nothing says love like this.)

And our story is not all that unique…

It’s much like the story of the rest of our coupled friends: we met, we fell in love, we moved in together.  And now, we’re getting married.

Our story is probably, much like your own.  When we met, we were often called polar opposites: he was more introverted and I had never met a stranger.  He didn’t enjoy being the center of attention and I was a one man show.  He was planned, organized, and had priorities.  I was living by the seat of my pants and routinely tossed caution to the wind.  He’d been with the same company since 1803 and I hadn’t held a job longer than a few days.  (Obviously, he likes facts and reality, I tend to exaggerate.)

While we started out quite different from each other, during our ten years together, we’ve brought out the best in each other.  We’ve become more alike than we are different.

Our common interests have always been our foundation:  a shared love of travel, our strong bond to family, and a belief that we have an obligation to live our life as an example for others.  We haven’t changed the world, but we have impacted others along the way.

On October 10th, 2015, ten years after our first date in 2005, we’ll tie the knot.  And the next chapter of our story will begin.  With each new adventure, a page is written.  Mostly, you’ll see our travels (Italy, Greece, Mexico, Canada, Bora Bora), our adventures (Star Wars Days at Disney, Comic Con, the latest Batman movie), and our appreciation for good food and wine (Sonoma County, Giordano’s, Pi Pizza, River Ridge Winery).  And you’ll see our commitment to giving back, whether that’s an afternoon of volunteering or giving attention to causes important to us.

But, whatever life brings us next, we’ll travel together.
